Apr 16, 2018Leslie was born in Naches, WA on April 21, 1924 to Robert and Dorothy (Stevens) Allan. He moved to Tieton in 1930 and resided there for the rest of his life. He graduated from Tieton School in 1942 and enlisted in the Army Air Force. He attended Air Mechanics School in Wichita and San Antonio, TX, then was stationed at Chanute Field, Illinois. After training was finished, he was sent to England for the balance of the war, except for a short stint in France and Germany.After the war he married Leatrice Alderman in 1947. They enjoyed 70 years of marriage.Leslie went to work for the Yakima County Horticulture Union, which was later called Snokist Growers. For 28 years he worked at all jobs in the warehouse and then made district manager. Later he went to work for 15 years for Simplot Soil Builders as a chemical salesman for tree fruits.Throughout his life, Leslie and his family enjoyed camping, boating and fishing. After retirement, he and Leatrice traveled to many places in the world with their friends. He loved working in his yard, enjoyed a good game of golf and was a devoted Mariner’s fan. Leslie was a longtime member of the Tieton Presbyterian Church.He is survived by his wife, Leatrice, his son Roger, sister Beverly Todd, and grandchildren Kim Allan (Paul Anderson) and Scottie Allan, great granddaughter Kaylee, and daughter-in-law Sandy, plus nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Keith and beloved son Terry.A memorial service will be held at Rainier Memorial Center at Terrace Heights at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Interment will immediately follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to your favorite charity.
